Even with Rich home today, we have had a productive day. We have already had to move the schedule around a little bit to accomodate some crazy crazy toddlers and preschoolers who just refuse to sit still for anything. We decided to switch our morning academic time with the afternoon quite time/craft time. It seems to have worked a bit better to wait until the crazy little ones are napping in order to have the house quiet for academics. Both Dante and Elijah have a hard time concentrating with lots of noise around them.
Anyway, for craft time today, we cut out sponges and painted with them. The children made some beautiful art work. Elijah did cut his hand, but it was all better with one bandaid. Even Isabella enjoyed her first big paint project. Of course, she could not resist painting her hands and booster seat. Justus wound up in the bathtub with a blue head of hair. Dante made a beautiful cowboy picture.
We also painted the carport window with a stale beer and espom salt mixture to made "Jack Frost Crystals." It kind of worked, but not sure if it worth the beer smell every time you walk in or out of the door.
Elijah played a phonics match game and Dante reviewed adverbs and regrouping.
We also read the story of Jacob and Rebekah out in the sun and it was such a glorious reminder of why we are home. Why are house is so nuts. Why we love being together. We just LOVE being able to all of these things to the GLORY OF GOD and calling it OUR HOMESCHOOL. What a faithful and maginificent God we serve.
Love,
Amy
